Trendmaker Building Benefit Home in The Woodlands...
Trendmaker Homes & The Woodlands

Trendmaker Homes and The Woodlands have teamed up to build one of two Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit Homes for 2009. Trendmaker announced they would be building their new Living View Product (Plan M242N) in the neighborhood of May Valley, located within the Village of Sterling Ridge in The Woodlands. Trendmaker is donating the new home construction management and The Woodlands Development Company donated the home site.

Each year two new homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with homebuilding materials and services that are donated by GHBA members. The homes are sold at market value and the majority of the proceeds are donated to charity. The three 2009 beneficiaries are Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston. Since the Project began 29 years ago over $5 million has been raised.

"Trendmaker is proud to once again participate in GHBA's Benefit Homes Project 2009 in support of such worthy local charities,” said Will Holder, president of Trendmaker Homes. “Neighborhoods flourish because of the grass root efforts of people and companies who take the time to make a difference."

“The Woodlands Development Company (TWDC) is pleased to partner with Trendmaker Homes, one of our most successful homebuilders, in this very worthwhile endeavor,” said Tim Welbes, president of TWDC. “We applaud the GHBA for their continuing dedication to the Benefit Homes Project and its beneficiaries.”

TRENDMAKER HOMES
Trendmaker Homes brand is well known by both new home buyers and Realtors alike for being “the Leader in Affordable Luxury”. Since 1971, Trendmaker has focused on the needs and desires of the most discriminating home buyers, and the results have been spectacular. The iconic "T" in their familiar logo has become far more than the symbol of a fine home, it represents a superior new home buying experience. Trendmaker home buyers, often move-up buyers, may have children at home, be empty nesters, single professionals, downsizing, or retiring.
Differences in a Trendmaker home include lifestyle and lifestage features that make a significant difference to their buyers. SmartDifferences are innovative, standard features found in Trendmaker homes for no additional charge. These added touches streamline daily tasks while underscoring luxury; features like ergonomically-designed raised dishwashers for easier loading and unloading, built-in backpack racks that reduce clutter, built-in garage workshops to help tackle big projects, plus many more. These SmartDifferences were developed to increase simplicity and, unlike in a lot of new homes, they are not upgrades. A standard Trendmaker SmartKitchen offers gas cook tops, raised dishwashers, a sponge tray, a pull-out trash can cabinet, granite countertops, kitchen towel bar, full size ovens and extra storage for pots and pans.
Trendmaker builds in 24 planned communities throughout the Houston area. Homes range in price from the $270’s to the $800’s. Their Build On Your Lot Program is also offered both closer in to town and in select communities throughout Houston as well as in the coastal area with new plans that are just being introduced in the Greater Galveston area.

Trendmaker Homes and Trendmaker Development Company also participated in the 1999 GHBA Benefit Homes Project when they built a new home in Grand Lakes in Katy, Texas - a master-planned community also developed by Trendmaker.

“Trendmaker Homes has been around for almost 40 years,” said Don Klein, chairman of the Benefit Homes Project. “Their excellent reputation and professionalism make them a top name in the homebuilding industry. The Benefit Homes team is thrilled to have them aboard. It will be a great partnership for the Project as they move forward with The Woodlands, another huge name, to make 2009 a success for the three deserving charities.”

THE WOODLANDS
The Woodlands is a 28,000-acre, forested community where people live, work, play and learn as families and companies. Located 27 miles north of downtown Houston on I-45, it encompasses nine residential villages, three distinct corporate and commercial centers, a resort and conference center, a luxury hotel and convention center, hospitals and health care facilities, and exceptional shopping, dining, entertainment and recreational amenities.

The Woodlands Waterway, a 1.4 mile-long water amenity, transportation corridor, and linear park, is a major destination that links the shopping, dining, residential, office, and entertainment venues in The Woodlands Town Center, the ‘downtown’ of The Woodlands.

Throughout its 34-year history, The Woodlands has led the way among master-planned communities that practice environmental preservation. Of the 28,000 acres in The Woodlands, nearly 6,000 acres are now devoted to green space in parks, golf courses and greenbelts. Nearly 8,000 acres will remain undeveloped green space at build-out.

The Woodlands has led the Houston area in new home sales every year since 1990 and was ranked No.1 in Texas and fourth in the nation in new home sales in 2007. Business and industry flourish in separate commercial districts forming a 5,000-acre crescent along I-45, near the Hardy Toll Road and a no-stoplight, 20-minute drive to George Bush Intercontinental Airport from Town Center. Bush Intercontinental Airport is a major international hub.
